About
Welcome to Brasas, an unassuming gem tucked away at 6138 Delmar Blvd in St. Louis, MO. This charming eatery has quickly become a favorite among locals and visitors alike, known for its tantalizing flavors and cozy atmosphere. As a food reviewer for Menu Buzz, I can't help but sing praises for the culinary delights that Brasas offers.
Step inside this intimate establishment, and you’ll find a clean, contemporary space with just a handful of tables—perfect for an intimate dining experience. Despite its small size, the energy here is vibrant, with attentive staff who strive to ensure every guest feels welcomed and valued. It's no surprise that diners rave about the service, which expertly balances the roles of hostess, server, and bartender, making every visit seamless and enjoyable.
At the heart of Brasas’ menu is the Peruvian rotisserie chicken, a dish that has garnered rave reviews from patrons. Customers consistently highlight the chicken’s rich, flavorful seasoning and perfectly cooked, juicy meat. Accompanied by sides like garlic rice and sweet, caramelized fried plantains, this dish offers a harmonious blend of textures and tastes that is hard to resist. One diner, Basel Safi, described the experience as transcendent, noting that the flavors penetrate deep into the meat, making each bite unforgettable.
Not to be overlooked, the pork belly dishes have also captured the hearts (and stomachs) of those who dine here. Recommended by multiple guests, the pork belly served with a curry bean stew is a standout. Its rich flavors combined with the gentle kick of spice are guaranteed to leave you craving more. As Andrew Todd mentioned in his review, the accompanying margaritasi and house-made ice creams add a refreshing touch to the meal, making it a well-rounded dining experience.
For those seeking affordability without sacrificing quality, Brasas shines in this department as well. Many diners, including Stashya, appreciated how the portion sizes provided great value, making it easy to indulge without breaking the bank. The diverse selection of small plates allows guests to sample various flavors while keeping the dining experience both satisfying and budget-friendly.
In essence, Brasas is a must-try destination in St. Louis for anyone who appreciates vibrant flavors and attentive service. Whether you're a fan of rotisserie chicken, curious about savory pork belly, or simply want to explore unique sides like sweet plantains and roasted potatoes, this spot will have you coming back for seconds. Make sure to plan ahead, as it gets busy—and trust me, you won't want to miss out on what many have already deemed one of the highlights of their St. Louis visit!
“ WHAT GOOD FOOD. Genuinely the best chicken I have ever had in my life. We had potatoes prepared three different ways and we didn’t feel overloaded by the end of the meal. The staff were super kind and the food was so delicious. I am not a big fan of the seemingly here-to-stay restaurant trend of serving very expensive large plates with intermediate prices on small plates, as that can sometimes feel like a ripoff depending on the amount of food you get, but this did not feel like a ripoff. We got decent portions for the sizes and were full by the end of the meal without spending $50/person. I think it was ~$120 for 4 people, including tip, and we got a whole chicken, four small plates and drinks and dessert. Pretty decent amount of food for the price. I will certainly be recommending Brasas to others :) ”
“ One of the highlights of our trip to St Louis. The drinks were great and the food was phenomenal. We split the pork belly and the half chicken with potatos and plantains with local made icecream for dessert. Everything was a 10/10 for us. The restaurant itself is small so reservations are recommended. ”
“ Everything from service to drinks to food was 10s across the board!! My husband and I went to Peru and this food took us right back there. The slow-cooked brasas chicken in particular was nothing short of mind blowing. All of the Peruvian classics like pisco sour, chicha morada, etc are top tier. Whoever is in the kitchen and making drinks is S-Tier. Food and drinks came out promptly too!! If you’re looking for some unforgettable food at great prices, you will not be disappointed here! ”
“ We had a great meal at Brasas STL, right across from the Pageant. The space is small—just five tables inside and two outside—but clean and contemporary. There was one staffer working as hostess, server, and bartender, but she hustled and handled it all well. We had the Pollo a la Brasas with roasted potatoes and plantains, and the Mostrito de Brasas over pork belly fried rice. All the main dishes had a moderate kick to them. Everything was excellent, but the pork belly rice and sweet plantains were the real standouts. Despite being seated at the bar even with a reservation, we really enjoyed our visit. The food is flavorful, moderately spicy, and well-priced. ”
“ One of the most delightful restaurant experiences I've had in years. The pork belly and rotisserie chicken dishes are both phenomenal - and the curry / bean stew that comes with the pork belly is a must-try. The margaritas here are also very much worth getting. For sides, we went with the rotisserie potatoes and sweet plaintains. The plaintains were truly amazing. The local ice cream dessert was also a unique treat that we all enjoyed at the end of our meal. This will be a place I will return to every time I'm in the St. Louis area. Give it a try! ”
“ Brasas is a place I didn’t know of until I was assigned to cover photos for them. I am glad I did. It’s a nice cozy place and the staff were so kind and friendly. After done with my business in Beasas, the food looked great and I had to order their main dish which was the Peruvian rotisserie chicken that came with 2 sides (garlic rice and fried plantain) were my sides and it came with three different cremas. (Mild, spicy cilantro, and spicy ). Speaking of the latter, the mild was good and it tasted close to ketchup+mayo , the spicy cilantro was really refreshing and flavorful, and the spicy one had lots of flavor packed in it as well. As good these cremas were, I didn’t use much of them with the chicken, I did with the rice and with the plantain which believe it or not, it worked “at least for me”. The garlic rice was cooked well and had a subtle garlic yet it was flavorful. The fried plantains were on point. Caramelized to perfection and they were sweet and melted in your mouth, when dipping them with the crema, the contrast creates a great harmonious flavors. Now going to the main star of the meal, the chicken. The main reason I didn’t go on with eaten kg the chicken with the cremas is that the chicken was filled with flavor, well seasoned and the cooked to perfection. I had the dark meat and it was so juicy and tender meat. The flavors were beyond the skin part unlike lots of people other places where you only find flavors on the skin and not the meat under. Over all, a must try restaurant, I will be back and have to try other menu items and recommend chicken lovers to come here and they will be in for a treat. ”
“ I had an exceptional dining experience at Brasa in the Central West End. From the moment I walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere set the perfect tone. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. The flavors at Brasa are outstanding—each dish is thoughtfully prepared with fresh ingredients and bold spices that truly highlight the cuisine's authenticity. I highly recommend the pork belly, which was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The cocktail and wine selections paired perfectly. Overall, Brasa offers a fantastic combination of delicious food, excellent service, and inviting ambiance. It’s a must-visit spot for anyone looking to enjoy a memorable meal in St. Louis. I’ll definitely be returning soon! ”
